Web development services
Which web development service will move your project forward?
I design, build and rescue websites, e-shops and business applications. I am a freelance developer based in Poprad, working remote-first and speaking with you directly throughout the project.
A useful website project begins with the job it must do, not a preferred technology. Some businesses need a focused website that explains their offer and turns the right visits into conversations. Others need event registration, subscriptions, ordering, client access or an internal B2B workflow. I start by identifying the user, their next action, the data created along the way and the people who handle it afterwards. Only then do I recommend WordPress, WooCommerce, Laravel or a lighter approach. This keeps the scope tied to business value and avoids paying for architecture that the project will never use.
I have spent 19 years building and maintaining web software. The work includes brochure websites, custom WordPress plugins, event registration systems for conference organisers, subscription portals, WooCommerce shops, B2B portals, multi-tenant platforms and e-invoicing systems. That range matters when an early decision affects later maintenance, performance or the cost of a new feature. I am not aiming to hand over a polished screen with an unknown engine behind it. I deliver a system your team can operate, extend and, if necessary, give to another capable developer without starting again.
01
WordPress for content your team controls
WordPress works well for business sites, publishing and projects that need frequent editorial changes. I do more than configure a ready-made theme. Content types, fields, blocks and custom plugins can follow the way editors actually work, keeping the public design consistent without forcing every update through a developer. On an inherited site I first review the theme, plugins, versions, performance and backup position. Many unreliable sites can be stabilised without a rebuild. For WooCommerce, the same work can include checkout rules, shipping, payments, feeds, stock and accounting connections.
- Business and content websites
- Purpose-built WordPress plugins
- WooCommerce and integrations
02
Laravel for a process that is not a template
When a website manages complex permissions, several organisations, commercial data or a distinct workflow, Laravel offers a clearer application foundation. I use it for B2B portals, multi-tenant products, e-invoicing and integration services. The work considers the data model, roles, auditable operations, testable boundaries and deployment, not just the visible forms. The goal is a maintainable application rather than a black box tied to one supplier. Important decisions are written down so a future developer can understand why the code has its current shape.
- B2B and customer portals
- Tenants, roles and data boundaries
- APIs and external services
03
Custom websites and shops with a measured scope
Custom does not automatically mean expensive. It means the structure, components and behaviour come from your goals rather than the limits of an unrelated theme. A smaller custom website may fit a 7 to 15 hour range, while an e-shop with catalogue, checkout, payment and required connections commonly needs 20 to 50 hours. Before development I separate launch requirements from ideas that can wait for evidence. You receive an hour range, a price including VAT and an explanation of assumptions that could change it.
- Content and technical structure
- Responsive implementation
- A defined scope before development
04
Direct collaboration with the developer
I am based in Poprad, Slovakia, while most collaboration happens remotely. A focused call, a written scope and regular working previews usually create faster decisions than a calendar full of meetings. Local clients can also meet me in person. Either way, the person analysing the request is the person writing the code. Context does not pass through sales and account layers. If I find a risk, a simpler route or a requirement that changes the estimate, I explain it before the work appears on an invoice.
- One contact from scope to launch
- Small, reviewable deliveries
- Support available after release
05
Choosing the right service
Start with web design in Poprad when local context and a new business presence are central. Explore WordPress when editorial control or an established content platform matters. A custom e-shop page explains sales workflows and price factors, while Laravel and custom websites cover distinctive applications and integrations. For B2B ordering, reservations and registrations there is a dedicated ordering system page, for campaigns and conversion custom landing pages, and for AI assistants and automation the AI integrations page. The pricing page places comparable hour ranges in one view. If the categories still overlap, send the objective, current state and desired timing. I will identify the smallest sensible first step instead of asking you to diagnose the technology yourself.

Common questions about web development services
How much does a business website cost?
A smaller custom website is typically 7 to 15 hours at €40 per hour including VAT. Page types, content readiness, languages, migration and integrations affect the final range. You receive a project-specific estimate after a short conversation.
What is the difference between WordPress and Laravel?
WordPress is strong for managed content and standard e-commerce. Laravel is a better foundation for unique workflows, complex permissions, portals and data integrations. I choose according to the required behaviour and likely growth, not technology fashion.
How long does it take to build a website?
A small site with ready content can be completed in several working days. A shop or application takes longer according to features and feedback. The estimate includes a realistic schedule before development starts.
Can you take over a website built by another developer?
Yes. I review the code, versions, hosting, backups and operational risks first. I then prioritise the smallest safe fixes. I recommend a rebuild only where evidence shows it is safer or less expensive than continued repair.
Do you only work with clients in Poprad?
No. I am based in Poprad and can meet locally, but I work remote-first with clients in Slovakia and abroad. Scoping, previews, feedback and handover can all happen online.
Have an objective but not a technical answer?
Send a short outline of the project. I will suggest a practical first step, likely scope and realistic cost range.
