Laravel and PHP
Need a Laravel developer for a custom web application built to grow?
I develop and take over Laravel applications, B2B portals, multi-tenant platforms and integration systems. Technical choices stay connected to the workflow, risk and future maintenance.
Laravel becomes useful when a website is no longer just a collection of content and turns into a working tool. Customers sign in, staff process requests, companies see only their own records, the system contacts invoicing, and every operation follows rules. A custom web application like this needs more than a list of screens. It requires a coherent data model, boundaries between responsibilities, deliberate permissions and a safe way to release changes. I begin by mapping the process and its failure cases. A framework provides tested building blocks, but it cannot replace the decisions that make the product reliable.
I have developed PHP websites and applications for 19 years. My experience includes B2B portals, multi-tenant platforms and electronic invoicing systems where data consistency and external services matter every day. I also take over existing Laravel applications, learn their architecture and continue delivery without treating a rewrite as the default. I am based in Poprad, Slovakia, and work remote-first. Requirements, technical decisions and working previews remain easy to trace in writing, while the client speaks directly to the developer responsible for the design and code.
01
From operational process to data model
Discovery looks beyond the fields visible on a form. I ask who creates a record, who may change it, when its state becomes final and what should happen when a dependency fails. The answers shape entities, relationships, state transitions and rules. In a B2B portal, one user may represent several companies. In electronic invoicing, retrying a request must not create a duplicate. Careful modelling keeps exceptions out of random controller code, gives the interface predictable behaviour and provides boundaries that can be covered by focused tests.
- Processes and states before screens
- Roles and ownership of data
- Explicit handling of failure
02
Multi-tenant and B2B platforms
Adding a company identifier to one table is not sufficient tenant isolation. The boundary needs to hold across queries, files, background jobs, notifications, exports and administration. Roles may differ by organisation while central operators require a controlled wider view. I design these constraints deliberately and include an audit trail for sensitive operations where it is useful. The resulting product can add customers and features without copying the whole application. Developers can also see where access is enforced and how to test it rather than relying on a convention nobody verified.
- Isolation across data and files
- Flexible roles and permissions
- Auditable important operations
03
Integrations that remain stable during failure
Payments, invoicing, warehouses, CRM products and partner APIs can become slow or unavailable. An integration should record its state, retry safely where appropriate and tell an operator what requires attention. I separate external payloads from the internal model and use queued work when it improves resilience. Logs contain enough context for diagnosis without unnecessarily exposing personal information. These decisions attract less attention than a new dashboard, yet they determine whether an application can recover from everyday network and supplier problems without corrupting records or creating duplicate actions.
- API boundaries and data mapping
- Queues and safe retries
- Support-friendly diagnostic context
04
Taking over an existing Laravel application
A takeover begins with the actual runtime: Laravel and PHP versions, dependency state, configuration, database migrations, tests, queues, scheduled jobs and deployment. I run the project in a controlled environment and look for production behaviour that depends on an undocumented manual step. The first output is a short risk list and recommended work order. An older version is not automatically defective. Security support, current stability and change cost determine the decision. Where modernisation is needed, I divide it into safe stages so the business continues to receive useful output.
- Runtime and deployment audit
- A risk map before major changes
- Incremental modernisation
05
Estimation, delivery and maintainable ownership
I divide projects into outcomes that a client can review independently. The estimate states assumptions, known scope and open questions. At €40 per hour including VAT, the relationship between a feature and its cost stays visible. During development I demonstrate completed parts, record decisions and flag the impact of new requirements before implementing them. After release I can support monitoring, fixes and later iterations. The source, data and access belong to the project. A future team should be able to continue engineering rather than begin by negotiating for control of its own application.
- Reviewable delivery stages
- Transparent hourly pricing
- Transferable code and access

Common Laravel development questions
How much does a custom Laravel application cost?
Cost depends on roles, data design, integrations and operational requirements. My rate is €40 per hour including VAT, and I prepare a staged scope after discovery. A focused module and an entire portal cannot share a useful flat price.
What is the difference between Laravel and WordPress?
WordPress is naturally suited to managed content and standard e-commerce. Laravel offers a flexible foundation for distinctive workflows, complex permissions and applications with their own data model. Required behaviour should drive the choice.
How long does custom web application development take?
A small independent module may take days, while a substantial portal can take months. I break the roadmap into concrete releases so the first useful result can arrive before every planned feature is complete.
Can you take over an unfinished Laravel project?
Yes. I review versions, dependencies, migrations, tests, queues and deployment first. Critical stability issues come before broad upgrades or new features, and the recommendation is based on the running application.
Is Laravel suitable for a multi-tenant platform?
Yes, when tenant isolation is designed across data, files, jobs, exports and administration. Laravel supplies useful tools, but the project still needs explicit boundaries and tests from the beginning.
Have a Laravel project or custom workflow?
Describe the users, main process and current state. I will propose a first verifiable stage and realistic cost range.
